Holiday Season Starts in Conejo Valley & Thousand Oaks CA

It's the start of the holiday season. Stores are crowded with shoppers buying food for their Thanksgiving feast this Thursday. Stores have trees, tinsel and lights encouraging shoppers to get ahead of their Christmas shopping list. Parking lots are partitioning off areas for the trees to arrive. Are you getting ready?

Did you know that in our community of Thousand Oaks, Conejo Valley, Westlake, Agoura and surrounding areas they are organizations that are busy getting donations and volunteers to help?

Help who?...Helping the many people and families that have had a difficult year in this challenging economic time.

Why?... So they too can have a wonderful holiday season.

How?...By donations by you, the caring people of Thousand Oaks, Westlake, Agoura, Newbury Park and surrounding areas that make up this wonderful community we call home.

Getting Involved

There are so many opportunities available to you and your family to make a difference in our community. So many families make these opportunities family events, getting their children involved in helping others and instilling in them the joy to give back to others. Below are some opportunities to get out there and show this community you love them. If there are other opportunities that I have missed please let me know.

Manna-Conejo Valley Food Bank They are very low on food this year and would appreciate your canned donations, along with turkeys for the holiday season. They are located in the heart of Thousand Oaks.

Santa Comes to Westlake/Agoura and Beyond sponsored by the Westlake Juniors Women's Club. Donate money for a bag od groceries for a local needy neighbor or bring your donations to the Do-It Center in Westlake on December 1st. Music, Santa and festivities for the whole family!

Casa Pacifica Center for Children They are in need of bicycles and volunteers to participate in their Holiday Wishes Program. Located in Camarillo CA, they serve the areas abused and neglected kids.

Elderly Care Facilities So many of our elderly in care facilities do not have family or family that are close by. The holiday season is a very difficult and sad time for many of them. Some ways to bring joy into their lives are to bring them homemade cookies, have your kids paint holiday pictures so they can put them on their walls, go to the home and carol.
